1851 Cent..what grade?

    I'd give it a VG8.

    ANA Grading Standards for 1851 Large Cent as follows:

    Obverse: hair shows detail only in spots, mostly around the bun. The coronet is outlined and the hair cord shows clearly. Liberty is worn but complete.

    Reverse: Only a bold outline of the leaves, stems, and bow show. Legend is complete but letters may be weak.

    G-VG and looks like it took a cleaning at some point.

    Still a nice copper.

    I would say VG+ details, but with environmental damage.
