Have the chance to buy this coin and am wondering if the asking price is reasonable, The coin is obviously damaged but it upon close inspection is seems like a legit over date. The asking price is in and around 40$ do you think its worth it or not?

Thank you Marshall for your opinion and expertise but I think i'm gonna pass because i don't think there is much profit to be made on this one although it is probably not a bad price for the coin. Ill post the link incase anyone else cares to venture....

Seems a bit much for an otherwise common piece. My N-3 is in about XF or better and I paid about what they want for the example in question.

I see some details corroded coins selling for well over $100 and i see some nice original surface XF coins selling for around the price of this coin. I think a patient buyer could get a nicer coin for around the same price but like i said they are getting around $100 for similar coins. Thank you though for your opinion i'm glad I asked before i bought it because i don't really collect large cents and my knowledge on the subject is certainly lacking.
