Well after a long time, I finally got the 1847 Kingdom of Hawaii Penny (already have the 1883 Dime, Quarter, Half Dollar) and I'm pretty excited! I got it a few days ago for $450, in EF condition as I was told (from a Honolulu coin show.) Do you think it was a good deal?

(I categorized this as US because it is in the Red Book, if it should be world, I'm sorry)

Scanned image (sorry if the scans aren't that good, all of the text is completely legible in person however.)

The scans do not leave me with good feelings about this coin.

If its real, cool, but $450? I know theyre expensive but for something like that I would have wanted slabbed for sure.

    That's a good point :/
I really should get it certified
However I strongly believe it's real though.. but again I guess I can't be 100% sure.. I know the dealer pretty well.. plus.. I live in Hawaii (and here.. they aren't as rare as on the mainland, as you can imagine) but I guess it'd be wise to have a second pair of eyes too look at it more closely.. especially for this price .. thanks :) (by the way.. my scanner is horrible.. it looks better in real life :/)

It has an odd color, and some details I don't like. I'm afraid it isn't genuine.

I went to that show! And I remember seeing several samples that looked just like that one. All though one that was brighter had a asking price of $480 in an ANACS slab.
