Another round of treasure hunting produces some excellent finds. I'm debating with myself over whether this is an error or just really scratched. If you look at the reverse, particularly the metal around the "I" in Half Dime - you will see what appears to be die break or slag from the original metal around it, and falling down. Then again, it could also just appear to be scratched really badly - and ultimately destroyed. I also came across an 1874-S Seated Liberty Dime in 'at least" VF and I think XF in comparing to some graded XF comparables. Woot!

Let me know what y'all think of the reverse on this one.

Post Mint Damage. Means that someone did something like scratching, holing or doing some sort of damage after it leaves the mint.

Ok, I'll accept that answer (kicks grown, sulks) but at least give me some kudos for this find. 1874-S Seated Lib Arrows dime. It's a beauty, eh!?!?!

OK - scratches were put on the coin WAY after it was minted as the scratches have more detail than the coin does!!!!!

It is?? Worn and damaged - at grade G6 it's maybe 20$ then throw in the really worn with damage?

Two different coins Marcus - I switched on ya mid-stream. The 1847 half dime is - well - crummy - I know. Especially with the graffiti on the back. The other one - the 1874-S arrows (see my last pic) is gorgeous on both sides.

Anyhoo - I keep searching. I bought the half dime knowing it was probably graffiti but wanted a second set of eyes.

    Thanks y'all...
