    Hello,
I have a coin that has very little published on the internet. The coin is a 1838 Victoria (young head) with a soldier and a lion (not a dragon). Given the pictures provided can anyone tell me if the coin has for a value and why is there so little information available for this coin?

1838 was the first year of victoria sovereigns and they came in shield back and with st george on the reverse. you will have to post larger pics but resize them down below 245kb.
as to it being a lion instead of a dragon i am at a loss.

It is a lion. Now what you have there is a medal made to commemorate her her coronation. Probably made around 1873 . The reverse is ST. George on horseback & the lion.
