What is a Half Eagle 1838-D Classic Head worth in EF condition? There are no visible flaws. Every detail is visible with naked eye. Also, is this MS-63 condition or MS-60. There is one scratch on one side only visible with magnification.

EF is EF, it is quite different from MS which means mint state. Can you post a pic of the coin ? Then we could be more helpful.

he is asking about the coin being in MS-63 or MS-60 if there is 1 stratch on the side only visible with magnification.

It is worth $3000-$5000 depending on how nice of an EF it is.

Neither, if the only flaw on a coin is a nick only visible under magnification then it is MS68+. Now if there are other signs of imperfection that would change the grade.

Thanks for your help. As you can tell, I don't know much about grading coins. I will try to get a picture of it on the web site. I have done some research, and it seems to be a rare coin. Thanks again for the help.
