i have an 1835 Half Cent that is in excellent shape. Its very nice, doesnt look like its been in circulation ever, from my unprofessional eye, that is. its dark brown, and its been sealed up in plastic since i found it probably 20 years ago. dont have the ability to take pics currently. my dig camera is at work.
also found an 1835 half dime thats very clear. its silver in color and the stamping is very clear. just an educated guess on them would be fine. i may try to post pics tomorrow.

I also found a 1980 penny that was in a protective casing. i dont know if theres anything special about it, but its sealed up and was in a house my dad owned. its marked with a D under the date. I dont see any reason for it to be special, unless theres something special about it im not aware of.

    Anyone?

1835 1/2 cent had a mintage of 398,000 and goes for $34 in g4 to $110 in XF.

As for the 1/2 dime.Four different varietys exist for that year but all trade at about the same level. $25 to $75 at G4 to VF condition.

The 1980 cent I dont know of any special varieties for that year that would warrant saving it other than just saving it.

We would have to see a photo before we could tell for sure...as the grade is the big thing..
