The Coin is not an error, It is a variety however. This coin is known as the B-7 Variety of the 1835 Bust Quarter Series. It has an R-2 Rating, making it a rather common die marriage for this year. Hope this helps.

I'll try to remember to check Browning when I get home. In general, Bust 25c have few varieties b/c the minatges were low; didn't need as many dies = fewer varieties.

Jim M is right on the money; this coin is Browning-7. Low r.2, maybe high r.1.

There are 8 die marriages for 1835. B-7 is the only one with no period after the C. It is one of the more common die varieties.

If you would like to know more, get the book "The Early Quarter Dollars of the United States 1796 - 1838" by A.W. Browning. Google, Amazon, E-Bay. You'll find it; not too expensive.

    Enjoy !
