I recently bought this 1835 Bust Quarter off eBay from a reputable seller. I have not got this item in yet. What do you think it grades and how much do you think it's worth. Thanks!

My personal opinion is AU DETAILS (CLEANING+SCRATCHES) and around the $350.00 ballpark.

I saw this coin while the ebay auction was live and I believe the issues go beyond a cleaning. This coin has altered surfaces and is a true problem coin.

I'd say hi XF Details $225 , The worth is subjective as all detailed coins are . Like how it looks in hand and how bad are the defects . These pics aren't clear enough to tell what grade she is , just a close approximation . Sure has a long die crack . Hope it has it's luster left .

    Tom,

What is going on in the fields of this coin. They look like they have been whizzed. The reverse field under the wing and above the arrows seems relatively unscathed, yet the fields above the eagle look altered. Why would someone whiz only portions of the coin? Wouldn't that make the altered surfaces easier to detect? I have no idea what is going on with the obverse.

I'd go for XF details, abrasively cleaned.
