I guess this looks like a large 8, SMALL STARS and large letters of which i cannot find as a known combination
Actually, IMO it is not. I learned that the head design on these coins was punched into the die blank separately. Then the date and stars were punched into the die. Perhaps a sharper image would confirm that nothing else is doubled. Anyway, I am away from my large cent books but some member will probably have its N# before long.
Anyone able to help on the ID of this one - large 8 large starts large letters or medium stars or what?? I dont have a clue - the stars dont look small but dont look big Thanks to all - this board rocks!!!
Your coin is N#6. It took less than 2 min. to attribute ONLY BECAUSE the tools were available. Suggestion: If you collect mostly Large Cents you may wish to buy some of the books by Noyes, Wright, and Grellman as it will really expand your enjoyment. The "old" Newcomb book is nice to have also but much harder to use.
IMO, after conservation F-15. I would price it as a VF after it was pretty so I could discount the price for the buyer.
