I saw this on YouTube and I'm wondering what makes this capped bust quarter look so unusually "well" struck. Does this 1834 Capped Bust Quarter look like an extremely strong strike, or has all the crud caked onto the devices (then why disproportionately more on the devices than the fields?)? Or, what's going on - do some of the higher grade metal detecting finds come out of the ground looking like this? Or maybe it's just the lighting? Video below starts at 20:14:
This. I didn't run the video - I don't provide view clicks to random Youtubers - but the initial image has the coin pictured. It's a very low lighting angle - darn near horizontal - which makes the relief look far higher than it actually is.
