    Anyone familiar with this series?

From the research there are early, middle and late types for this year. The Krause plate coin is the late type, which is much less crude than the earlier ones.

The thing that has me confused about this one is that it seems different from other examples.

The obverse and reverse details are consistent with the early type, but that one had the denomination as "1/2" instead of "mo" (for medio real). The middle types that had "mo" for the denomination look significantly different. I have seen a couple examples with the same design where the "mo" was clearly struck over a "1/2", but this is not the case with this coin.

Could I possibly have a transitional issue that is not well known?
