I wonder if anybody can help me attribute this coin, Front large = http://imgur.com/Xy5LO Back large = http://imgur.com/vhqHRl Front cropped 800pixels = http://imgur.com/AdHot Back cropped 800pixels = http://imgur.com/BcJ2o
Chip, you could try this site to attribute your coin. http://coinzip.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=lebust Lou
Yep - some of them have descriptions that can help diagnose it. Hopefully you can see the I in epluribus on the reverse in relation ship to the T in states. That is one of the things I usually start with.
Thanks for the link lou, there are a few on this site that follow the cappers, I do not get a die pairing on this one from overton
lots of wear in that area mark, the date is about a perfect 8, and it is almost exactly 1 mm on the 50 cents, see those two things dont match up to any pairing, but I have found sometimes overtons measurements leave something to be desired, BTW, those are my first posted coin pics, my son helped me out on them.
Look at the O-110. If I remember correctly that die pair has the weak spot in the Pluribus as does your coin. Check at Coinzip. I will check my Overton book tomorrow afternoon sometime.
