I have a book at home - if you post pictures of the front and reverse I will try to attribute it when I get home tonight.
Not sure of the variety - 3 in date low, long 1's over short 1's. Reverse: Large letters, 25C large and low near border, base of 2 curved. Eagle has no tongue. The difference between this and the B-7 is that the arrow heads are long arrow heads that almost touch border. The B-7 has short arrow heads not near the border - and is an R-6 coin. Post some close ups of the boarder. Check out the B-5 and B-7(only one) on heritage closed auctions.
If they were a bit bigger I could tell you, I think the others have it right though it is either a B-5 or a B-7.
here a link to photo pucket the pics R 6MP. http://s870.photobucket.com/albums/ab263/iuswing/1831 bust Quarter/
OK so what does that mean? I've been into coins for a long time but never got into the classifications. Is it rare can I sale it and quite my job and buy an island? lol
The browning book is the one I have and it looks like a B-7. I am not an expert and there is only one example of the B-7 on heritage. The B-5's all seem to have the arrows almost right against the boarder. I would check over at the coinzip forums. Just my humble opinion.
I agree! I was wrong At my age 58 I do forget at times If we could see a close up of the Coin's Obv & Rev that would help.there is a listing in the Cherrypicker Guide vol#4 pg116 of the date and noted as a Breen 3919 here what it explain( A large date logo punch was used over a small date logo punch, the 1' and the 8 are clearly re-punched)and it go on to say the variety bring a small premium over the normal coin A closeup photo like this would help
I agree! I have a 1835 no period after 25 c/25.c. that not as rare as the 31.but from the photo to me it been clean at one time.a better photo would help:kewl:
