I got this and I was a bit put off when I looked closer, it looks like something is wrong with the date, anyone care to weigh in?

1831.jpg I have looked up this 1831 Farthing and found a few large images that show that kind of weird looking 3 in the date. One site mentions that there is a variety for this coin but does not state what it is. This is one good picture I found with the weird 3. So I don't think it's an error but just the way they designed the date back then.

Also, I could see a few good hits on your coin. Could of also caused some damaged on that weird looking 3

Bottom of the 3 punch is broken. Since it wasn't there it didn't create a void in the die and so there was no bottom of the 3 when the coins were struck.
