I bought this 1831 1 scoda REALLY cheap. It has damage on obverse and someone attempted a hole at 12o clock on Reverse. Still an old BIG silver coin. What do you think its worth??
Italy, Papal States, 19th century Krause KM#1315.1 date-1831-IB weight-26.4280g. or 0.9170 oz. metal- .917 silver denomination- 1 Scudo, ruler- Gregory XVI grade/value VG-$50.00 F-$85.00 VF-$135.00 XF-$185.00 I would guess VF+ grade.... but the damage on the baby side ??? these other guys could give you a better grade than me. cool coin.
wait the baby side on the bottom should read "Roma" where yours looks like "B2" ? not sure it's the same coin now. ???
How about showing us the other side, instead of the same side twice?? Also, the device after the "B" is a triskelion, a symbol of the Trinity, not another letter. And tell us the diameter in mm.
No problem - unfortunately I cannot add anything substantial to this topic. Here is more (in Italian) about the designer, and this is an image of the "Roma" version. Christian
As Doug wrote, the symbol after the B is probably a triskelion or trinacria, not a digit. And the B is the Bologna mintmark, it seems: http://www.moruzzi.it/ashop/ItemDetail.asp?IDItem=6698&IDCategory=147& Christian
