    Hi

Anyone care to help me learn what Overton variety this coins is? It has problems, no doubt, (looks like someone took a wire brush to it) but I am curious as to how it started life.

I see nothing with the date. It has the missing arrow shafts and other weakness on the lower reverse like half the 'C' missing.

    Thanks.

Piece of advice: next time post high res pictures of both sides of the coin. No editing. In order to find the Overton variety, you’ll have to first check the T-I alignment on the reverse. Then you’ll usually only have a few options left. Here’s a link to a web site which you should bookmark (direct link to the 1829 O-105 variety):

    Thanks for that.

I had been to that site, but thought the lack of arrow shafts and 'C' would be the primary diagnostic features.

My montage was made to highlight what I thought would be areas of interest, not to edit or hide anything. I was showing the warts and flaws that seemed, to me, to be problem areas.
