Krause only lists a value in F, which is $175. Seems quite high to me, but that's what it says.

By KGIV, I assume you mean King George the 4th of Great Britain? Ok, the 1827 penny had a mintage of 1.4 million.

It's hard to attach a value to this, I can't even give you a good value because there isn't much in completed auctions. I do know that this is 1 of the 2 key dates of KGIV pennies. There was a 1825 in VF condition that sold for $180 and it has an even lower mintage.

I would give yours a rough estimate of $100-$125, depending on condition.

Thanks guys, I've found one in VG I would say for less than £50 at a local dealer, and was considering buying it with it being such a scarce coin, they are worth so much in low grades because all of them were sent to Australia for the prison colonies.. But the ship sunk and only a hand-full survived in better grades hence why they are worth more in poorer grades.
