Picked this up from a dealer in Maine while on vacation last week. I'm not certain of the Overton Variety though. Maybe some one can help. There is a raised spike in front of the bust. It is not damage. Hope it shows here as this is the best I can do with pics. This is for my Dansco type set album. There also appears to be a slight rotation? img998.jpg img999.jpg

I like it a lot. I can't help out on any variety, but I like the little rotation, too.

I had a blast with my son. I also picked up a 1921 P Mercury in very good for my working mans collection and a run of 3 cent nickel, six total as I had completely neglected that set. The Merc came from Laconia Antique Center in N.H. And the 3 centers came from a dealer in Plymouth, N.H. Also finally managed to find a Vol. 2 of the Dansco Morgan Dollar Album.

That’s a great looking Half Tommy! I’d certainly put that in my type set. Glad you had fun with your son.

The "raised spike" in front of the bust, really the face, is actually a scratch.

    Sorry

It's Overton 105...an R-3 die marriage. As Frank says above, the "raised spike" on the obverse is a scratch, not a die line.

    Nice coin for a Dansco.

Very nice find, especially when it's a family affair. Our granddaughter is continuing to show interest in collecting. We detect together, go to our local coin store together, and do online together. So far so good! Enjoyed you're post, thanks.

LOL. I did get up to see Wally & Dennis at North Country Coins In Plymouth. Small shop but plenty to peruse. They had the Morgan album I was looking for, for so long.
