Hoping after hours and eons of research, some of you may be able to help me in determining if the grade on my capped bust quarter? I've taken a variety of photos, regular, macro and from my microscope. The one's taken upright in the coin holder were done outside in the AZ sunshine (all natural). The macro shots took on a red hue on parts (please overlook). Wow, these pics turned out gigantic (editing after my post)..and for some reason they rotated back sideways on a lot of them.. (my apologies). Thanks!

The person was selling off some of his dad's coins, stored for about 50 years in a safe.

Instead of posting 50 photo's that are hard to see why don't you take 3 one oobv. One rev and one of the date.
Then when you post hit the full button so the picture is view able, and not in fragments .

Thanks for the advice, I was thinking the thumbnails were more desired and also, I just wanted to provide detailed photos since I'm asking for grading input .. I will try to do something easier :)

Hard to tell from these photos as others have posted, but this looks like a good candidate for third party grading.

No the thumb nails are a royal pain depending on what you're viewing them on.
Yes as a variety collector myself I do take more than 3 shots. But take shots dead on not side ways or upside down unless asked to by someone who's helping attribute the coin.
Your coin the obv. And rev then a shot of the date would be fine,to see the over date. Now if someone asked to see an area needed to give you the variety that's another story.
Nice coin btw. And these quarters are hard to find in general.

It's really has a lot of meat on the bone and in Au. A 3k coin. But I believe that it's been dipped or cleaned.

Has anybody went and studied one on Pcgs site .
I don't know, looks fake to me .

Just for starts, look at the 25 C. OP coin doesn't look right .
    Here's a image from pcgs

Looks like it would be worth your time send some of these to a TPG .. not all just a few of the better dates.

I'm just a newbie and didn't want to be the first to say "something doesn't look right", but... I agree. Something doesn't look right.

I defer to the experts, though.

Rick I hear what you're saying, if it is a copy or fake it's one of the best I've seen. Not having the coin in hand is a draw back to say fake. I see the over date and die cracks that to me would be extremely hard to cast . Not saying it couldn't be done. I see something that I question around the date. I see dark spots in out of the way places where if it was soaked and soaked it be hard to get the dirt out. But look at the date closely as well as the 25 on the rev.
Again in hand and making a call from images are two different things.

OK now I'm in your camp, after looking at both images for a few minutes this jumps right out at me. Rick look at the arrow heads, the 25 C. The feathers on the eagle have no detail. The feathers on the arrows at the nock , way to many on the bottom of the arrow.

I would say they did a wax casing, then touched up the mold by carving the wax. They even placed the compass dot dead center of the obv.
Studying the two coins side by side you can notice several different items that jump out . The feathers on a waxed cast would not show details.
I had 3 friends whom were jewelers. One was very good at castings . I recall Steve showing me the lost wax process and showing me that yes you get detail enough to look like the original piece but when you look close you can see a copy over the host piece.

Look at the eagle claws to the left, OP is way different .
I put circle around the area in question .

Also take a look at the shield, it's not even close ....
