I recently picked this 1824/4 Bust Half Dollar. There are a number of varieties for this date and some are easy to confuse. I believe this is the 4/4 variety based on the information I have available to me. At the top left of the 4 is a small knob, very common for the 4/4 over date. She’s a nice looking coin as well.

@Collecting Nut . Can I ask you please what you paid for this ? How are you going to verify that it's a 1824/4 ? The values for that and a regular 1824 ( $50 ? ) is very far apart.

@SensibleSal66 I don’t like saying but I paid under $55.00. Look at your Red Book. The top left of the 4 has the dot. The bottom of the 4 has the bars. The right bar is more visible than the left but they show in my photos. The spacing between the 8 and the 2 and the 2 and the 4 are correct fir this being a 4/4 overdate. These early coins have so many varieties it’s easy to get them mixed up.

Commonly called The Red Book by RS Yeoman. Sold just about any place. Your LCS, Wal-Mart, online, Wizard Supply, any bookstore, etc. Just don’t go by the retail prices.
