    Welcome to the forum.
Your best bet for proper attribution of the Bust 1/2 varieties is Overton.
    Good luck.

Were you looking for values or varieties?

If you're looking to attribute the coin (per variety) there is no online source that I'm aware of. Best bet, like Frank said were books by Al Overton or Ed Souders. Maybe, if you post a picture one of us here can take a shot at IDing it for you.

    I have Overton`s 1970 Edition.

A REALLY, REALLY good pic, and perhaps we can help.......

You really have to update your reference library, there have been three editions since that one.

Though the most recent one is NOT the recommended one.

Actually for the capped busts I recommend Petersen, his attribution guide is much more easily applied imo.

:) Everyone has their own opinion and each book will provide an accurate attribution source.

do you prefer the 4th edition of Overton/Parsley over the 3rd edition, or were you just commenting on my preference of Petersen?

To each his own... Personally I use the 1st (signed, ;)), 2nd. and (4th Overton/Parsley) along with Ed Souders Bust Half Fever. They've provided all the information needed for my halves. Except on one instance when I had to contact a member of the BHNC for advice with a new variety.

Chuckle, If I didn't live 600 miles from nowhere I'd be a member in good standing of the club. I still need Steve Herrman to take a look at my collection and verify the attributions. I plan on a trip down to Denver this spring and hope to catch up with him then.

    Take care

Good luck, and I have all editions, including one signed, I think the 1st also, plus Sounders' book and Beistle.
The 4th edition is okay, but I would have preferred better paper for the printing.
On the third edition I could use a magnifying glass to enlarge the pictures without distortion, the 4th shows pixels and can't be enlarged.
Good luck on the Bust Half Nut Club.

    Omega,

You'll have better luck getting help if you:
    • Start a new thread for your coin. Adding your coin to the end of a very old thread may be confusing to some people.
    • Post a pic showing the entire obverse and the entire reverse so people can properly grade the coin.
