1822 Bust Half grade guess???

    Here is a keeper 1822 Bust Half which is in beautifully worn shape. What grade did this grading company give it?

    Well, from what I see.............. I would say the grade was below what you expected. I can only guess since I dont collect those. Hmmm.. I would say a Fine. A little strong for a VG but not enough detail on wings and the hair for a VF.

    Thats my guess and I am sticking to it.

    PS, now if I were purchasing the coin I would say its a weak Fine. 10 maybe if there is such a thing.

    I agree with Fine, no doubt about it.

    is that damage to the reverse rim, or just the holder? looks like it has an bump there.

    Reverse-VF-20
    I would say a Fine -15

    REV vf-25
    My guess- F- 18,

    UGS called it a VF 20.

    My grade would be F 15.

    Hard to tell without seeing it in hand.

    I would have to go with a conservative f-15. Busts are usually over graded.

    There are a couple spots in the legend which are worn down pretty far.

    Overall it's a nice problem free coin.

    Here you are. BTW, the grime is pretty thick near the edges. Actually covering some of the lettering near the rim on the reverse. Any suggestions, LOL...
