1820 Large Cent variety?

I'm not a US large cent specialist, this being my only piece in my collection. The 2 in the date looks funny, as there is a vertical stroke that appears to connect the top portion of the digit with the mid-section diagonal. Is this a particular variety of interest and worth keeping?

I don't know the Newcomb number right off, but it appears to be the 1820, 20 over 19 overdate. It's an exact match to the pic in the RedBook. Cool coin!

It is 1820 N-1 or the Large (8 larger than 2) Overdate. R1 or common with no premium.

But beware! Variety Collecting can be addicting.

Hope I'm not hijacking your thread, but the only large cent I own is a 1820 Large Date Newcomb #13. This is also one of my favorite coins.

No worries jay, it's all good. And thanks for sharing, your coin is certainly prettier than my worn example. May be time for an upgrade. Here's the backside of my clunker:

As long as they are recognizable, they are still collectable IMHO. They are pretty awesome. It doesn't appear to be too expensive to upgrade mine, so I'm going to unload this one for a better example.
