1820 Crown Scratched

    After reading the post by kvarterto the other day it got me thinking about a damaged crown I have. I bought it about 2 years ago for $14.00. I nearly forgot I had it. It has a bad scratch on George's face, but it gives it character and a story. What that story is I don't know, but the scratch looks as old as the coin. Maybe it signifies HRH's death earlier that year? Probably not. It also has some several small depresions on the reverse. I don't know how to really describe them but you can see by the pics. Well anyway here is the coin...

    Some people use to deface the coins as a act of political defiance so who knows that might have been the reason for it :pencil:
