Probably Newcomb-4 like it says on the holder.

oh, is that what N4 means, I'm no expert on large cents, what do you think it's worth?

Personally I do not have any of the Newcomb books, so I can't tell you. Ask around, try to find a member of the EAC, they probably be ably to help you.

It's an N4. On the reverse the leaf tip under the Second S in STATES is well past the S, only two varieties have that leaf past the S, the N4 and the N7. On the N4 the leaf tip under OF is on the left side of the F while on the N7 the leaf tip is under the middle of F.

That envelope with the coin is Tom Reynold's envelope, a big time copper dealer. The N4 is the Newcomb number and the R2 is the rarity ranking which is common. Additionally, the F(12) is Tom's sharpness grade, there should be another number on the reverse of the envelope which indicates his net grade due to corrosion. The 23 circled is the price he sold it for, and I think 23 is in the ballpark for value.
