look closer I think I see an over date but it seems to be just damage.

 

Yeah... looks like 7 over 6.

 

That was my first thought thanks for your opinion i can see why with not close enough examination it appears to be a 1813 which is what the seller said it was.

 

Oh wait... it can't be 7 over 6 since 1814 was the last year. Nevermind... :-(

 

It could be remember this was made more than 200 years ago anything could happen.

 

Classic head half cents were made until 1836 could this be a Classic haf cent date punched into a classic head cent date

 

It looks like an 1817/10 or the other way around
