View attachment 1674221 View attachment 1674221 View attachment 1674221 Coin has decent details left. Maybe vf sharpness. Has some surface issues but overall. Thinking about selling it so looking for opinions on value. NGC has $950 for straight graded vf.
Looks like the coin has a substance on it that shouldn’t be there. It’s a tougher date but it’s not anywhere near worth NGC’s price.
I know its not straight grade worthy. Just wanted opinions on value with its condition. If it was your coin to sell what would you be asking?
I have to disagree with Collecting Nut on this one while you won't get anything close to that 950 list price, I expect in that condition you could readily get 50-100 for her at auction possibly even more.
Maybe where you live but not where I live. Different areas deal with coins in different ways, ways that work for the area they support and operate in.
Listen Jerry. The Pics are sub-par. You can't even click and enlarge them. This coin is Environmentally damaged and not worth that much, I'm terribly sorry. It has to be looked at in person no matter what everyone says. Value is less than $80. 1812 Classic Head Large Cent Value | JM Bullion™
I agree the pics came over way too small even though I used full image on them. Hard for you to give an informed decision on this coin.
Yes, very difficult. Maybe show better Pics? It just seems to look like a Metal Detected find to me maybe because I have metal detecting on my mind?? I'd like to see better pics for a second time. I would start low with the bidding and see where it goes. That's just my opinion.
couple more crappy pictures but they show detail better. It has surface issues for sure but it is hard to find these with any detail left that are not very pricey.
Oh Jerry. What happened? Did Kramer take those Pics or something? Maybe I just have beer goggles tonight?
Need some help? Use a black background. Also, use your cell phone like this, adjusting the height...... Just watch the mount of lighting also. I have two programs that I use to edit. Mostly PhotoScape.com and LunaPic.com. I would try PhotoScape first. FREE download. My wife sometimes makes me Pancakes.....
For the pictures mine were pretty bad too. I've found my best option is opening my desk drawer and placing the coin in it on top of a loupe. then let my phone hang out over the top of the desk above it. I can then line everything up, zoom in and focus the camera. I also take the picture using the timer setting. As for the price from what I can see from the pictures my guess would be between $60 but I'm far from an expert.
