1812 classic head cent

    With the war and terrible quality planchettes I’m amazed that any survived. I passed on a 1813 with good details that has a rim ding.

    Absolutely. Large amounts of these were melted during the War of 1812. The price of copper went from 20 cents a pound to 80 cents.
