Folks, So I think this the 107 back, but I havent seen that the 107 back has a front with a clash as well. Die is rotated as usual... Please tell me folks what you think this is. Also what size is the 8?? I really appreciate the help here.
bump - help sorry for the bump, i just really need help in this one even if someone can tell me another place ot go with the capped bust halves... thanks a ton! Even an estimate on grade would be awesome!
It appears to be a LDS of O-107, so you have the attribution correct. I think the wear on the left wing is caused by the die lump. I would say VF30-35 details, as for the surfaces your pictures make it hard to tell. Edit to add: My 3rd edition Overton book mentions reverse clashing as well as a die lump over the left wing. Generally if you find reverse clashing, you also can find some on the obverse as well, assuming it hasn't been polished off.
Thanks a TON! The details on the reverse are fantastic all the lettering below the shield is clear as is the extra to the right and the top left and right. It really is a beautiful coin. I think this is one of the common clashes, but does it carry a premium? Does the front clash add to the premium as well? I really appreciate your help!
This is a common die marriage (R-1) and while the clashing adds to the character of the coin I don't think it would add a premium.
