When I saw this in the guys case, I looked it over for a good 5 minutes trying to find something wrong with it(a reason why it wouldn't grade), and I couldn't come up with anything. No rim dings, scratches(highly doubt the abrasion in the left field will keep it out of grading) or cleaning apparent. Looks to be an honesty worn, fairly well rounded, 1809 bust dime in my opinion. PCGS estimates it is an R-7 coin in all grades. Sending it out to PCGS tomorrow through express in hopes to have it back to go with to Chicago! photo 2.JPG photo 1.JPG

Beautiful coin !! So are you saying you bought it as a details coin and it was rejected or it was just never sent in ??

It was never sent in but I don't see why it wouldn't grade.

You may simply have happened across it before the dealer could assemble a complete submission package. I sometimes make an exceptional coin available before grading it, especially if it's going to be more than a couple of weeks before I send out my next submission.

    Very nice looking coin.

Well I think the simplest explanation is he had priced it with the greysheet price and didn't put the time in on researching the coin! Sent it out today, 5 day express, then realized chicago is next week! Wow, this show sure came up on me quick!;) Turns out I won't have it back in time.:(
