I have had this coin for a while and was thinking of sending it off to be graded... It has real nice patina and detail, I was thinking it may come back Very Fine. What grade would you grade it, and anything you guys see that would keep it out of a holder? Thanks a lot I really appreciate it
I am not an expert but I would suspect that it would come back altered surfaces, retooled, I have seen others where the hair detail had been reengraved, much like those primitive artists made hobo nickels. That is my opinion, and by no means a definitive statement, I am still learning and sometimes have to relearn things related to the hobby.
