1805 Half Cent Double Struck Reverse

    Here is a coin I picked up last weekend. I thought it was neat and wanted to share. It looks like only the reverse was double struck. It also looks to have a recut date as well.

    Oh wow, you have a beautiful coin. That reverse does look restruck, its amazing to look at. Can't tell if you have something going on with the date like you expressed. Did you have to pay any extra premium for the varieties on there?

    Yes, the 5 is recut / repunched at the top. This is Cohen-1 (Breen-1), rarity r.1, the most common of the date. It is the only 1805 with stemless wreath; the reverse die was reused from 1804 (reverse F).
