I have come across an 1804 silver dollar. I know there are only a few known in the world. I would like to know how to spot a fake. If you can help or offer advice I would like to hear from you. Thanks

First thing would be the price as there are only 15 known. They are very expensive (MILLIONS) and unless one pops up in a museum collection or a privatly held specimen a Rockefeller or Dupont had secreted away decides to sell your not going to get a real one.

    First, welcome.
Second, okay, if you have it, it is a fake.
    Third, Good luck.

Unless it's a really, really high grade counterfeit made of coin silver, your "Morgan" won't weigh 26.73 grams.

Where did you "come across" this item?
