Hey I'm looking at this coin I'm still new to large cents so I'm wondering if this is quality...(also what a good max bid would be). I did look into some of those other sites, but when I'm new to a type I prefer to buy certified. Here is the coin: http://cgi.ebay.com/1803-Draped-Bust-Cent-PCGS-F12-Nice-Coin_W0QQitemZ320501525352QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCoins_US_Individual?hash=item4a9f612b68#ht_500wt_1113
what do you mean by quality the grade is only f 12,i dont think i would buy it considering its going for exactly what its worth
Well it looked like a solid F coin to me and the last one on Heritage went for 253.00. Use the heritage archives to determine what is a price range for a coin - plus you can compare the quality of the coin for sale to the ones on heritage. I think heritage makes a good reference site.
It's a bit more than I would pay for an R1, but I love seeing them increase in value over the $165 in Redbook. The Late Die State does increase it's desirability. Well! I put my foot in my mouth this time. I just checked and I did recently purchase the same variety on Ebay for $250. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...0&_nkw=310191130475&_trksid=m38&_fvi=1&_rdc=1
I hate to admit it, but I'd trade it straight up for the one I purchased for $250. Mine might be half a grade higher technically, but would not net out as well.
