Hey everyone, I recently purchased an 1803 Drapped Bust Half Cent for a Dansco 7070 I've been working on. I was hoping to get your opinions and thoughts on the grade??

I'm pretty happy with the purchase and think it fits in nicely with the rest of the album. Just curious as to the thoughts of others and wanted to share.

    Thanks!

Fine sharpness reduced to VG because of rim nicks. I believe that the die variety is Cohen - 3, which is the second most common of the four 1803 varieties.

I like the half cents. Is this highlighted area due to an old cleaning?
The reverse is much better, but I think it would average out to VG also.

I don’t know why you are pointing out that area. The weakness in the lettering is normal.

    I agree with John.

That circled area is likely either just due to a grease-filled die or an unusually weak strike.

Still a very nice coin. I'd say about VG-10 maybe?

Does anyone else think that at first glance this coin appears fake?

Was not looking at the lettering at all but the bleached discoloration.
