    MS-63 - - - - I have no Pre '33 gold, and only 1 graded coin. But I love me some old gold! Looks sweet.​

    Don't know why I can't get an image is just blank squares where you click too bad I love early gold and have none for now earliest is 1851 (3) 2 $1.00 and a double eagle just waiting for something decent and early I can afford

    With the small scratches and a few heavy dings I gotta say 53. But I am curious to see what the TPG says. I'm even more curious about what your personal opinion is Matt since you have seen the coin in hand. Please share it this time.

    Doug,

    This is a coin around the shop we call a "PDO". Pretty Dang Original.

    Im thinking the coin will land in the AU range as there is still a decent amount of original luster left. To me I would not be surprised with a 58... but I would also not be surprised with a 53... It's one of those.

    Either way it's a great coin ! It's the only US gold design I ever liked until the Saints came to be.

    I am in the AU55 camp - still an absolute beauty no matter the grade.
