This is a coin I thought was choice in hand. Photos show too many bag marks for this, but it's still nice. Any comments are welcome.
I agree, very nice coin indeed...and yes, it does look like a really good strike. Still has good detail to it.
A nice example of S-231 Marshall. One of 2 stemless varieties for 1802, R-1 (the other stemless variety is S-241). Decent, pleasant planchet and surfaces, no major faults. I would grade VF25.
I agree with your assessment - very nice. Even with the uneven strike and the slight rim boo boo on the reverse I put this in the VF range. Nice S-231 coin.
