1802/1 $5 Half Eagle for sale. Graded F-12 Ex Jewerly by SEGS. Asking $2800. According to Early U.S. Gold Coin Varieties: A Study of Die States, 1795-1834 by John Dannreuther and Harry Bass, there are between 375-500 1802/1 half eagles known in existence. I believe this is a BD-5 variety with 8-10 known in existence. It has seen better days, but all early gold is rare and beautiful. I enjoyed having it in my collection, but I am looking to upgrade and would like to use the money from this sale to go towards a nicer piece. Pictures are below. Please let me know if you have any questions.
