This one never took off so I'll tell you what i came up with. S-195. The crack I initially used is pretty worn so I found a better marker to distinguish between the Reverse F of the S-195 and Reverse G of the S-196. The distance from the top of the (N)E to the leaf above it is close on Reverse G and more distant on Reverse F.

I'll try to add a photo.

I missed this one completely. And yes I agree it is a 195. Go compare the obverses of 195 to 196 - based off positioning of the date it is not 196(easy to see on tom decks coins). So that leaves 194 and 195 since they share the same obverse. Now looking at the reverses one has thin fraction bar (195), the other has a long heavy fraction bar beveled at one end. So to me this looks like a S-194. The cud has just been worn smooth on yours. I was using sheldon and tom decks web site.

    Photo added.

Now this is why I need feedback. I've been trying to prove the irrelevant thinking the S-196 and S-195 shared the same obverse. Thanks for pointing out the Mack Truck in my blind spot Mark.

I may not collect varieties on these, but enjoy trying to attribute them.

"I've been trying to prove the irrelevant thinking the S-196 and S-195 shared the same obverse."

    Cannot be.

How would the placement of the final 0 magically move? Clearly it cannot as it is significantly higher in 196 than 195 as well as being farther away from the first 0. The rest of the date is also slightly differently spaced.

Therefore 195 and 196 must have distinct obverse dies.

FWIW, 195 obverse is used on 194, but not 196.

p.s. that looks like a 194 to me. Fraction bar too thin for a 195, IMO.

OK! I'm almost convinced. Can anyone show me a S-194 with the spike on the left stem? I see it on every S-195 and none of the S-194s.

I can't answer that because a well placed hit or even wear on the stem could make it look like a spike. But the fraction bar does look like the 194.
