My favorite teller asked me if I wanted $1800 in small dollar coins. I figured what the Heck. I can spend them at the grocery store when I'm done looking at them. They are about 10% Susan B's, 60% Presidential and 30% Sacagewea. Any tips as to what I should look for regarding errors, valuable coins, etc.? Thanks a lot for any advice and responses...

Missing edge lettering on the gold dollars, wide rim SBA, if there are any proofs you can check which type of mintmark the SBAs have.

Google SBA varieties, Presidential dollar varieties, Sacajawea varieties, or I would really suggest investing in a redbook.

Look for missing edge lettering on the Presidential and later dated Native American dollars.....

"Dollares" makes them sound special and more valuable when selling them on Ebay.

Look for 2000-P Sac Dollars with a pattern reverse.

You never know. When I worked at the bank...I checked every 2000-P dollar that came through my window (which were a ton of them). I never found one...but I'm sure some are still out there. It only takes one to make your day.

If you're talking about the "Cheerios" Dollar, you be talking about a 1 in one billion chance. Hope you guys beat the odds.

I am...but if you're searching through them in mass, you might want to know what to look for. It's a simple diagnostic to identify. I know it's an extreme long shot, but you never know.

Well if I had that many I'd be looking for somewhere to unload them. But I see you already figured out you can get a cart of groceries with them so that problem is solved.

I would love to pay my car insurance bill in small dollars, those guys are crooks. I hope nobody reading this is an insurance salesman. O wait, yes I do.

With the Presidential Coins, look for the Gardfield Coin. It is very rare.

Look for the wrong date on the presidential and late Sacagewea's. Once someone found a presidential dollar that was dated for the wrong year. It must have gotten stuck in the machine or something, and found its way through a year later :)

Yes. The main difference is the tail feathers on the reverse.
