looks like someone used something to try and get the date to pop. I can’t tell what the last digit is? Can anyone identify this? Here’s a 1793 Chain Cent I was also shown. Any help on this one would also be helpful. Thanks in advance
I see 1801 as well. I get S-221 for the variety. I get S-2 for the 1793. Second-rarest die marriage for the chain cent. Bucket list coin
The seller is asking $2900 for the Chain Cent. Everyone is telling me that is too much for the condition. PO/FR Details.
These are rare coins. But in this condition, it's difficult to agree on a price. I bet a dealer wouldn't go over $1000 on it, because he has to resell it and make a profit. This coin is basically a detailed cull. I think half of his price is more realistic. $1500. But I'm cheap.
