I found a 180° rotated reverse 2016 lincoln shield penny today while CRH, and im wondering if I should send it in to be graded. It seems authentic; true weight, dings like zinc penny when dropped on table, no signs of tampering at all!

    Any advice is appreciated!

What rotation? Show the coin in a mirror so we can see both sides at the same time.

Asking about something without showing what you are talking about?

As for being worth it to send in to be graded - NO.

Sorry, its hard to show the actual rotation with pictures, so I opted not to take more than the initial picture. Now here you are. 1530571368684413234382.jpg

    Looks good.
I don't think it needs to be graded as that will just put too much money into this coin. Collectors will recognize the error and what this coin is worth.
There's really no set prices for errors. It's what the market will bear. But Paddyman might have an idea.

Thanks for the pic. It's a nice rotation error, but it won't make you rich.
    I second Michael K's post.

Very nice and yes to 180 rotation. No do not have it graded. They do not sell for high amounts.

It's a Medalic strike.. Best rotation you can have.. I say yes to send it to a TPG to have it attributed as a Mint Error.. They will grade it anyhow ;)

And no need to drop the Cent. Sound tests are kind of silly in my opinion!

Well at PCGS that's going to be $65 + the handling fee + shipping and insurance both ways. If he just sends in the one coin its going to cost over $100 and I doubt the coin is worth anywhere near that.

Paddy just likes his errors slabbed.
I don't believe this coin warrants it, because without it it's still a cool piece
and has value if sold to a dealer or collector. There's no reason to increase your
cost on this piece, because now if you sell it, you are losing money. What's the point?

Have you noticed that 2001 are off also. Found about 30 of these. What is acceptable for rotation

Man. You did a goodash job on that one. Those are so so hard to find. You got to be a true inspector to catch those. Don't get burned out

Check online prices for such errors. You'll find they don't demand much money. I have a 1974 that has 180º rotation and don't consider it worth getting graded. 1974 180º reverse on mirror.jpg

As far as the mint is concerned, about 15 degrees.

Well done! As was stated, it takes extra effort to find this error because it isn't checked for. I look at every 1864 Two Cent piece I see at coin shows to see if I can find 180 degree rotations. I have found three.
Good piece. Just put it in a 2x2 and notate it. You can sell it better that way and protect it.
