I don't know whether to laugh or cry about this one. I notified the seller of the obvious alteration of the 1798 S-166 to a "1799" and the alteration isn't even close to good. He insists that this is an authentic 1799 because he can see the 9s. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400204800350 I know the regulars wouldn't get burned, but watch out newbies with more dollars than cents.
I think anyone with 30K to lay out for a coin has a little common sense. Anyone who has seen a 1799 know that is not even close. The obvious carvings around the 9 should be a dead giveaway too
