This is a new arrival from the bay. I made out like a bandit on this one. The edge should be plain, but there is hints of lettering. ??? Breen mentions Gripped, Beaded, Partly Reeded and two types of Plain edge treatments in 1797. There's still some mystery to this coin.

I think you are right. The IB seem to diverge, the JHF in center of T - wish I could see upper serif of B missing. Good pickup Marshall.
Would have made out even better if it had actually been a 1796 like the seller said. (1796 no stems = NC-7 three known.)
