1795 large cent, what variety?

    1795 cent 1a.jpg 1795 cent 2.jpg the coin is a 1795 liberty cap large cent. that is about all that i can figure out about it because it has a lot of wear. any opinions about what the variety of this coin is?

    Are you absolutely sure it is a 95? At the moment i can't see enough to rule out the 96's i can rule out some of the varieties but not all of them. I can't make out anything on the reverse. I think the obv is either that of S-77 of 1795 or S-84 - 87 of 1796.

    i am pretty sure that this coin is a 1795 with a plain edge and a thin planchet. i think that there are only 6 possible varieties for the 1795 large cents that have a plain edge. i think that you might be right about it being variety S-77 of 1795.
