This 1795 1/2 cent came from the B&M sale of the Norweb collection sale, october 12-14th 1987. Some of you may recall that? What a fantastic sale that was! I put in many bids but only managed to get a few pieces. This was one of them. Lot 14, 1795 half, purchased by the Norwebs from the Chapman brothers in 1908. It has two short rim cuts, and a nick on the edge, but overall a very pleasing piece, graded in the catalogue as VF30. My pictures are unfortunately (as usual) rather washed out, but this is a nice piece with much detail and interesting provenance.
