Okay - I think it is a 1794 head of 1794. I have been going thru Penny Whimsy left and right and it seems like it could be several different types. So I was hoping you all might be able to assist. I took some close ups of liberty and the date. The reverse also got a closeup(the only really visible part) - with the naked eye you can barely make out united and america. Microscope pictures just do not work. I am not sure if this is enough for you all to identify. Actually I have seen much worse for sale at heritage where ANACS has attibuted them, but I do not know how. Not the best coin, but it looked a lot less problematic than others I have seen. Thanks
You are correct in your assumtion of it being a 1794 head of 1794. I cant tell the variety from the pics but with the coin in hand you may be able to see the details alot better I bet. Try this link HERE You can compare pics of each variety with yours quickly-
Thanks - I like it. The 1794 is actually easier to see with the naked eye and the same with what little there is on the reverse. The web site really helped me narrow it down and now I think it is S-22. Then reading my penny whimsy book convinced me.
Not enough in the pictures for me to nail it down for sure without a lot of work, but a quick glance tells me it is a head of 94 and the variety is between S-21 and S-43
