I've been searching the net and am just wondering what you guys/gals think of this. Doesn't seem to be be the Idler copy... looks to be a Getz prototype???

Would appreciate any opinions and info. Sorry for the color balance on the reverse...getting past my bedtime so I gave up on tweaking it to be exact.
    thanks

Your pictures bear a very strong resemblance to Baker id 24. There are 4 varieties, all of silver. To determine which variety, I would need to know if the edge is either plain or what is on the edge. One variety was overstruck on several types of foreign silver coins, so if it looks overstruck, a weight is needed. Three varieties have listed diameters of 35mm, and the other at 35.5mm. If genuine, all 4 types are rare and valuable.

    reproduction

I received an email from somebody that said it appears to be an 'electotype' reproduction (copper plate over an interior lead core). It does appear that the core is lead. I can mark the edge with my fingernail.

I guess I learned a bit of history from all this. I don't know when the reproduction would have been made, but it would have had to have been done by casting an original coin.

I believe the edge is plain. I'll look tonight and measure it... See my above post about electrotype. Know anything about that?

    thanks
