    First, welcome to Coin Talk.

Second, I hope you weren't holding these to finance your retirement because they're both counterfeits. Or are you just goofing with us?

Yeah, both are fakes. The first coin is a common cast counterfeit. The 1913 Liberty Nickel is an altered 1910 where the 0 has been changed to a 3. But you probably already knew that.

Wow ! I have 1 too. I think (with my tongue firmly planted in my cheek) that the OP and myself are going to extremely rich when we get around to selling these rarities. What are the odds that we would have #'s 6 & 7 ?..................................John

Ah I was curious why the rim had no beads on the edge on the V nickle the other one just didn't look right. But I had no clue what it was.

drtucker; only five specimens of the 1913 Liberty nickel were struck, and the whereabouts of all 5 pieces is known. As stated by other posters, yours is a counterfeit.

I know nothing of your other coin, but it appears by popular opinion that one is counterfeit as well.

Thanks for the information. I suspected the V nickel of course, but thought the other, the 8S, was a real coin. Is it a fake of a gold 8S coin? Would a real one of these be gold.

Talked to a friend about the 8 S. They were in silver not gold.
